can i wear brown leather dress shoes with charcoal gray wool slacks?

or do i have to wear black dress shoes? i’m going to a career expo tomorrow and its business casual. i’m going to be wearing a blue button-down shirt also. i don’t know the rules, help me out here. i don’t want to have to buy a pair of black dress shoes tonight, i have too much homework to do.
